Classic Invoice Template

Ledger is the standard business document layout: your details and the client’s side by side, a ruled line-item table, and the balance due in a box that survives a bad printer and a hurried glance. If you invoice businesses and want zero friction in accounts payable, this is the safe choice.

Also available as a receipt and a quote — same design, different labels. No sign-up, no watermark, and everything is generated in your browser.

The design follows the conventions bookkeepers process on autopilot. The document number and dates sit top-right where filing clerks look first; the line-item table keeps descriptions, quantities, unit prices and amounts in strict columns; and the totals stack reads subtotal, discount, tax and shipping in the order accounting software expects to re-enter them. Nothing about the layout needs explaining to whoever receives it, which is exactly the point.

The one deliberate emphasis is the bordered total. On a document someone is going to pay from, the single number that must never be misread is the amount owed, so Ledger boxes it. Everything else stays quiet: black ink, one rule weight for structure, generous space for a logo top-right without pushing the essentials around.

Ledger works as an invoice, a receipt, or a quote — the labels change so the document always says what it means (a receipt shows the date paid and the amount received, never a due date), and the arithmetic underneath is the same whole-cent engine in every mode. Add your logo, pick a currency, and download the PDF with no sign-up and no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

When should I use the classic layout instead of a more designed template?

When the document is going to another business, a property manager, or anyone who processes many invoices. Familiar structure gets paid faster than distinctive structure, because the person entering it into their system never has to hunt for a field.

Can I use this template for a receipt or a quote?

Yes. The same design runs in all three modes. The labels adapt — a receipt shows "Amount paid" and the date payment arrived, a quote shows "Quote total" and a validity date — so the document never claims money is owed when it is not.

Is the PDF really free, with no watermark or account?

Yes. The PDF is generated on your device by the page itself. There is no account, no watermark, no page limit, and nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.

Can I add my logo?

Yes — PNG or JPEG, drawn top-right at a size that stays proportionate. The image is read and embedded on your device only.
