Receipt Template

Tape is a receipt template in the shape the till already taught everyone to read: a narrow strip down the middle of the page, everything in courier, sections separated by dashed rules. Fill in the form and the PDF is drawn in your browser — no sign-up, no watermark, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Use this template — free receipt

Also available as a invoice and a quote — same design, different labels. No sign-up, no watermark, and everything is generated in your browser.

The strip carries the same facts a register tape does, in the same order. Your name sits at the top in capitals with your details beneath it, then the document number and dates, then who paid you, then the items — each with its quantity and unit price printed small under the description, so the arithmetic is on the paper rather than in anyone’s head. The loudest row is the amount paid. Give it a payment method and it prints a “Paid by” line; a receipt also gets a spaced-letter PAID line under the total, which is the part people photograph.

The wording tracks the document type, which matters more than it sounds. A receipt’s second date prints as “Paid on”, never “Due”, and its bottom line says “Amount paid” — a receipt that says “balance due” invites a second payment. As a cash receipt template, set the payment method to Cash and hand over the printout; as a payment receipt for a bank transfer or card payment, name the method and keep the reference in the notes.

The same layout also produces invoices and quotes when you need the set to match: an invoice’s date prints as “Due” and its bottom line as “Balance due”, a quote’s as “Valid until” and “Quote total”. Discounts, tax and shipping appear as their own rows whenever the numbers call for them.

Honest limits: this is the look of an 80mm tape set on an A4/letter sheet, not output for a thermal printer, and the design ignores accent colors on purpose — a register strip in teal stops reading as a register strip. If you want a logo, color, or a fuller page, one of the other templates will serve better.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this as a cash receipt template?

Yes. Choose the receipt type, set the payment method to Cash, and the strip prints a “Paid by Cash” line along with the PAID stamp line under the total.

Does the receipt show when the payment was made?

Yes. The second date field prints as “Paid on” followed by the date. On this template it sits with the document number near the top of the strip.

Can the same design make invoices and quotes?

Yes. The labels change with the document type — “Due” and “Balance due” for invoices, “Valid until” and “Quote total” for quotes — so the paperwork stays consistent without saying the wrong thing.

Is anything I type uploaded?

No. The PDF is assembled and drawn entirely in your browser. Names, amounts and notes never leave your device.
