Creative Invoice Template

Sidebar is a creative invoice template that moves your identity into a full-height color panel down the left edge of the page: logo at the top, then your details, the client’s, and the document dates, all reversed out in white. The work itself — line items and money — keeps the rest of the page to itself.

Also available as a receipt and a quote — same design, different labels. No sign-up, no watermark, and everything is generated in your browser.

The panel behaves like the spine of a portfolio piece: it is the first thing the eye meets, and it carries everything about who the document is from. The body column stays disciplined by contrast — a large document title, a ruled table fitted to the narrower width, totals aligned to the right edge, and a heavy accent rule above the final amount so the figure that matters is unmistakable. On longer documents the panel repeats on every page, which means page two still looks like your invoice rather than a spreadsheet that ran over.

It suits work that is bought partly on taste: photographers, illustrators, designers, videographers, makers. An invoice is usually the last document a client sees on a project, and it can either match the portfolio that won the work or quietly break the spell. The panel takes whatever accent color you choose, so it can sit inside your existing palette rather than announcing a template. Two honest limits come with the shape: the body column is narrower than a full-width layout, so very long line descriptions wrap sooner, and a full-height block of color uses real ink if your clients tend to print.

Underneath the look, it behaves like every other template here. Invoice, receipt and quote modes each carry the correct wording — a receipt says “Amount paid” and records how the payment was made, a quote says “Quote total” with its validity date — and the totals, tax and discount handling are identical throughout. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and the PDF is generated entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can the panel match my brand color?

Yes. The accent color you pick fills the panel and the rule above the total. Since everything in the panel is white text, mid-toned and darker colors keep it readable; very pale colors will not.

Is a creative template appropriate for larger clients?

Usually, yes. The document still carries all the standard fields — number, dates, line items, tax and a labeled total — in the standard order; the panel changes where your identity sits, not what an accounts team needs. If a particular client’s process is conservative, a plainer template is one click away in the same generator.

Where does my logo go?

At the top of the panel, above your details. A logo with a transparent background sits best against the color; a white-background logo appears as a small white card, which can also look intentional — preview it before sending.

Does it work for receipts and quotes?

Yes. Switch the document type and the labels change with it: “Amount paid” with a paid-on date and payment method for receipts, “Quote total” with a valid-until date for quotes.
